Learning Inclusion Through Fencing

The FEIB Project Launches an Online Training Course for Sports Operators

The Fencing: Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (F.E.I.B.) project officially launches an online training course for sports operators, designed to foster the meaningful integration of people with and without disabilities in shared fencing environments, while promoting equal participation, accessibility and social inclusion.

The online training course will take place between 12 February and 12 March 2026, over five training days (every Thursday, two hours per day, 16:00–18:00 CET). It is aimed at European sports operators to strengthen their professional competences by providing them with the knowledge, tools and methodologies needed to design and deliver inclusive sporting activities and events.

The course combines:

  • Theoretical lectures on inclusion in sport
  • Practical demonstrations via video
  • Interactive discussions and guided reflections

Key topics include wheelchair fencing, fencing for people with visual and cognitive disabilities, the application of the innovative VAPEP methodology developed by FEIB, and strategies for integrating athletes with and without disabilities in shared training sessions. The lessons will be delivered by coaches from the sports clubs promoting the project, who are experts in teaching fencing to athletes with disabilities.

Training course is open to participants who have basic experience in fencing or an interest in developing their knowledge of this sport in an inclusive context, including:

  • Sports operators, coaches and trainers, particularly those working in fencing or interested in inclusive and adaptive sport practices;
  • Individuals working with people with disabilities in sport or physical activity contexts.
  • NGO representatives engaged in social inclusion and community-based sport initiatives.

Participation is free of charge upon registration via this link
